Rural route. We travel from Pereira to the small town of La Florida in a chiva or Willys jeep (local means of transport). We then start the day with a good stretch and warm-up before getting on our bicycles and riding for approximately fifty minutes, after which we arrive at the path which leads to Cascada Los Frailes. We begin a gentle walk, during which we are always surrounded by beautiful trees and the fascinating sound of birds. This part of the tour lasts approximately one hour and will take us to a beautiful waterfall with cool, pure and crystalline waters, called Cascada Los Frailes. Here we can appreciate from a safe and prudent distance the scale and beauty coming from a small creek falling from more than 50 metres high.
After enjoying ourselves at the waterfall for a while, we take the same path back to the point where we began the walk. We have a short rest, then we get on our bicycles to begin a descent during which we can observe various different species of birds, and with luck we will be able to see or hear the howler monkeys which inhabit the zone. We continue going downhill whilst surrounded by beautiful, leafy trees, until we get back to La Florida, a small town amidst fields where crops such as plantains, spring onions, tomatoes, coriander and other vegetables are grown. We eat a delicious lunch made with fresh, locally grown products, we relax for a while and we finally return to the city of Pereira by Willys jeep, where we conclude our adventure.
